Umzumbe through its Youth Development office hosted the Matric High Achievers awards at the Esibanini Community Hall, ward 10. These awards are annually held to crown the top 10 highest achieved learners throughout Umzumbe.
“We beam with such pride as the class of 2022 worked extra hard in achieving these excellent results surpassing our expectations. As Umzumbe council and community at large, we need to continuously encourage our kids to aspire for greatness through education,” eluded His Worship the Mayor of Umzumbe Municipality Cllr Bongani Nyuswa.
Apart from recieving a cash prize aimed at easing the financial burden on parents in preparation of tertiary needs, the top ten highest achieved learners also recieved a Vodacom hamper, trophy and certificate. The top 10 is as follows:
1. Dlamini Mukela- Bhekameva High School who will recieve R 10 000
2. Lushaba Ntando- Mqhakama High School who will recieve R 7000
3. Mafi Anelisa- Buhlebethu High School who will recieve R 6000
4. Mchunu Xolile- Mqhakama High School who will recieve R 3000
5. Ncama Bukeka- Buhlebethu High School who will recieve R 3000
6. Shinga Sphephelo- KwaFica High School who will recieve R 3000
7. Mnyadi Kuhle- KwaFica High School who will recieve R 3000
8. Ngcece Siyabonga Famous- Bhekameva High School who will recieve R 3000
9. Madlala Nqobile Nothando- Luthuli High School who will recieve R 3000
10. Mchunu Langelihle- Mtwalume High School who will recieve R 3000
